Here is the review for the Amazon Kindle. The Amazon Kindle is available on Amazon.com for 9.99 It uses the Sprint EVDO network to access data much like a cell phone without a wireless hotspot and most of all, it is free. It has 256 MB of internal storage and provides an SD memory card slot along with a USB mini slot, along with a headphone jack.

Was it worth the $350 price tag when it first came out. Definatley not. $189? Maybe….but still don’t feel like it was worth it. Finally got one for $109 today. Don’t regret it at that price.

I know the kindle is not for browsing the web but surley they should included a little more capabilities. The kindle could be so much more than just a ebook reader – video would not be hard to offer but i still no sign of amazon pushing the kindle further. Anyway just my 2 cents.

What a ripoff, even for $180 or whatever the price is. I understand this being used for people who read 10 books a week and dont want to carry all those books, but who are you idiots kidding ? If you read this at home only you are a poser. Why would I go spend $180 on a ereader when I can spend $5 on a slightly used book ? Hmm lets see, $5 for the slightly used book to read or 10.95 + 189 for the book and kindle. Idiots.

The only thing keeping me from getting one of these is the price of the ebooks. I can get a small paperback for a lot less.

Depends if you want to pay 256 or 500. Ipad offers more because it’s a totally different product. Ipads are portable PCs and Kindles are portable books.

It’s a shame actual books are fixed font, so you better decide right away, do you want the cheaper small print paperback or the more pricey hardbound large print? For someone like me, who’s eyes have good days and bad, that’s a tough choice. I’m glad ebook readers now offer me a third option. Buy one copy and adjust the font to what my eyes need it to be.
Books are not a burden we used them, and so can our kids. People want the easy way out, and that is why most americans are fat. Lift those books, and gain some muscle. To much technology leaves room for disaster. What will they do if these things stop working. Buy a new one everytime. You don’t get an insurance policy on most of the things we buy you take the risk.
A school in Clearwater Florida has these, and they say textbooks costs $74.00 while the books for the Kindle costs $64.00. Wow what alot of money saved. The Tampa Tribune says the Kindle e reader has internet access for the students. So it does have internet access. I will never let my kids on the internet unless I can see it, and I don’t trust other people to be their nanny. My suggestion is if your child is still required to bring a backpack than use it.
I also don’t like the fact of my kids having one because of blogs, and internet access. If the school uses it we will just get books, and not use ours.
I can’t even get my mp3 player to work. So now we have a useless device with no way to get our money back. I just don’t trust these things what if the books on the Kindle are different that what it actually says in the book you can get at the library. To be quite honest I can get free books at the library, or cheap used books. So I don’t care how heavy they are for that deal. They are here already so lets use them. The Kindles are not going to get rid of the garbage from unused books.
